LEEVAC provides a fully staffed engineering department that offers comprehensive stem to stern design – utilizing the most advanced engineering software – for all manner of vessels and barges.
Our vessel engineers possess the experience and technical expertise to design vessels to our customers' exact specifications – as well as providing assistance with concept development. The fact is that our customers can simply provide their ideas on paper and our engineers will produce the project from beginning to end.
Our experienced and talented team of engineers includes pipe designers, structural steel designers, electrical engineers and HVAC specialists, as well as a naval architect on staff. We offer turnkey engineering and design services, which includes marine engineers who provide project engineering and management from start to finish. We can also provide anything from a total turnkey "design and build” project to the design of specific singular components that a customer may require. In addition, our engineers maintain continual communication with owners and operators to ensure that we know precisely what is expected and keep each project on time and to exact specifications. Our engineers also maintain frequent communications with our Louisiana shipyard production and repair facilities to ensure the quality of our work and adherence to specifications and regulations.
Our engineering department also has a great deal of experience in taking a customer's vessel designs and making them construction friendly and cost effective. We also place great emphasis on meeting or exceeding all regulatory and safety classifications and requirements. Our vessels are engineered to meet the requirements and guidelines of organizations including the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), International Maritime Organization (IMO), Bureau Veritas (BV), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), firefighting (FIFI) organizations and the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).
In addition, LEEVAC is involved in the Offshore Marine Service Association (OMSA) and the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) for the betterment of our company, our industry and service to our customers.
At LEEVAC we are dedicated to utilizing the latest and greatest engineering software. Our engineers provide in-house lofting utilizing ShipConstructor and Rhinoceros (Rhino) software – two of the most advanced lofting applications in the maritime industry. In addition, our engineers provide everything from 2D drawings in CAD for submitting to regulatory bodies, to comprehensive 3D final designs.
